Sarah Jezebel Deva
“A Sign Of Sublime”
(Rising Records)

And the film scores continue! Famed for being Cradle Of Filth’s vocalist (along with her own band Angtoria), “A Sign Of Sublime” is quite a departure from all that - but far more suave, sultry and definitely more sexy! Any of the 9 tracks from ‘She Stands Like Stone’ to ‘They Called Her Lady Tyranny’ to the teen life closer of ‘Daddy’s Not Coming Home’ could form part of the soundtrack to any vampira film like Underworld or the more recent Twilight Saga, it’s really that cool. With an absorbing atmosphere created in no small part by the excellent vocals of Miss Deva, this stylish gothic rock metal is more than a solo project but an international collaboration with co writer Ken Newman from Ohio, Sarah’s best friends Dave Pybus and Martin Powell, and the icing on the cake - Max Blumos (ex Trigger The Bloodshed). Recorded in Australia and finished in the UK, “A Sign Of Sublime” is a highly commendable effort rating an Oscar winning A+.
