Master
"The Human Machine"
(Pulverised Records)
Fronted by the legendary Paul Speckmann, Master is true to its founder
by being nothing but that - old school US death metal. Tortured gutteral
vocals, fuzz toned guitar and crunching rhythms proudly give the finger
to all those that would even think of anything compromising (i.e. keyboards)
as they crank and shank out the grooves that made the likes of Death and
Massacre into a genre of their own. I'm so glad that even if Paul now
lives in Europe, he still chunks out this old school shite made all the
more credible as one of the original purveyors of it. Complete with an
old school cover, this album could've come out've the 80s and that's just
where brooding grinders like 'It's What Your Country Can Do For You',
'Suppress Free Thinking' and the classic 'Faceless Victims Expelled' are
at - answer to the Master!
