Disarm
Aptly self described as kick ass punk metal rock n roll, Disarm burst outta the English backwater countryside (that’s south Yorkshire to you and me mate!) with a decidely un British sound owing more to the 80s trash rock that gave us GnR, Skid Row, and the mightly Hanoi Rocks as well as the nouveau punksters like Rancid. With dirty guitars and snarling vocals, you’ll hear elements of all these bands (and more) but the true essence of this music has been accurately captured by the heavy, twanging bass of Noddy which owes more than a nod to Duff McKagen. From out and out punkers like ‘Bullets And Blasphemy’ to the heavy rock n roll of ‘She’s My Disease’ to the piss take punk pop of ‘This Is Not A Pop Song’, Disarm’s music successfully epitomises the self destruction blues of youth gone wild without the prancing poseur antics of Pete Docherty or wretched Amy Whinehorse. -Shan Siva |
