"The Reckoning" EP
(Transcend Records)
This is the second EP released by this Essex based sextet and is essentially
in the familiar style of melodic Swedish death metal along the lines of
Dark Tranquility or even a lighter version of The Black Dahlia Murder.
Characterised by mid tempo songs that whilst aren't original in their
style, certainly are well structured for optimum use of power, melody
and atmospherics such as on the romantic title closer. They also have
a brutal side that can be heard on the faster, crunching 'Inside' - made
all the more musclebound by some lethal guitar licks intelligently placed
in the right place so I'd say they have the potential to move ahead of
the pack certainly within their native shores.
