Charred
Walls Of The Damned
"Charred Walls Of The Damned"
(Metal Blade)
Metal Blade Records is proud to bring to the world Richard Christy’s
new project, Charred Walls of the Damned! This all-star metal outfit features
some of the most talented musicians in the world of metal. Their collective
experience is colossal and their musical pedigrees speak louder than any
verbal or written praise. Along with founder Richard Christy (ex Death
and Iced Earth) is none other than Tim "Ripper" Owens (ex JP)
on nuclear powered vox and techno death bassist Steve Digiorgio (Sadus).
Making up this fearsome quartet is Richard's guitarist and producer /
engineer friend Jason Suecof, who has worked with Trivium, The Black Dahlia
Murder, Chimaira, DevilDriver and God Forbid to name a few - and does
a damned fine job of holding his own on axe! As you can imagine, Charred
Walls Of The Damned sound good but the reality is that they could be damned
near the perfect contemporary heavy metal band! What I really like about
them is that they've not chosen to follow any particular genre but rather
have started on a basic high octane metal foundation and have just excelled
in each of what they do best while keeping it together - quite superb!
As such Tim "Ripper" Owens actually sounds the best I've ever
heard him not just in terms of his voice but finding a style (ironically
in a band with no style) in anthemic tracks like 'Creating Our Machine',
'Fear In The Sky' and the awesome 'In A World So Cruel'. Too damned good.
