If Scaramouche met Mr Bungle you would get Carnival in Coal, two Frenchies who are so out’ve their minds that they’ve definitely crossed the good taste barrier (picture a toy poodle dressed in a wedding outfit gripping a mouldy severed hand in its mouth and that’ll give you a pretty good idea of whats going on here). We all know there are certain foods, drinks and musical styles that just don’t mix well. So do Axel and Arno. But these two slick willies - like Baron Von Frankenstein’s demented offspring - have decided to recreate the monster so we get the cocktail lounge arrangement of Pantera’s ‘Fuckin Hostile’ or alternately, the sympho black metal version of the disco anthem ‘Maniac’ (offa Flashdance). Ugh, this is more like Carnival in Cac.
