BLOT
MINE This isn’t a new album in the sense that it’s an old recording made available in a reconstructed sound. It’s actually the follow up to Blot Mine’s debut album “Porphyrogenesis” from 1999. I’ve been at loss with words to write about this record. Not because it’s a bad one but because it didn’t speak to me. It would have been so easy to use the same old song and dance routine that this reminds me of Dark Funeral this or that (even if it’s true to some extent), that I’ve been trying to come up with something new to write. With little success I might add. There is more to “Ashcloud” than just the typical Dark Funeral stick, a different depth to the music that sets Blot Mine apart from most other black metal bands. It’s just that I don’t hear anything I haven’t heard already. -Anders Ekdahl
