Bleed
From Within
"Empire"
(Rising Records)
An aptly titled sophomore as these Glasweegians continue their expansion
by joining their mates and going the whole hog into the territory of The
Black Dahlia Murder. With carefully mixed melodies interspersed with mild
death vocals, chopping dervish riffs and some excellent fast precision
drumming from Ali Richardson, songs like 'This Is Our Legacy', 'Last Of
Our Kind' and 'Welcome To My World' continue the tradition from their
debut that allowed them to attain slots at Download and Hammerfest last
year. And shine on they will, embarking shortly on a 29 date UK tour that
will no doubt consolidate their position all the more in their stride
to the top!

Bleed From
Within
"Humanity"
(Rising Records)
These Weegies certainly didn't have any humanity whatsoever opening with
the brutal Pantera sounding 'The Awakening' - no marks for originality
but full marks for reproduction on a sound that's just begging to be taken
on! Then it all seemed to go Cradle on 'Damnation' and the remainder of
the album was mainly Swedish death along the lines of The Black Dahlia
Murder (who are friends as I understand) so it made for a predictable
if fast and aggressive listen. There's deffo potential here - especially
on that stomping opener - and judging by the 5 album deal they've signed
with Rising clearly others must think so too.
