What an apt name! These guys represent the new breed of metal bands currently sweeping out of Italy so I’m guessing this will be a prime market in a few years. With roaring vox, driving technical double bass drumming and dervish off tune mit sqeaks guitar Awaken Demons immediate connotations are to Machine Head and Lamb Of God - especially on ‘Drawn To Death’s Door - featuring Earth Crisis’s Karl Buechner on guest vocals. Elsewhere like on ‘Fight To Overcome’ the clues are to be found in touring partners Agnostic Front and Sworn Enemy and especially in the lyrics to ‘Abandon The Darkness’: ‘...you think you know me? You have no fucking clue! I’m you’re worst fucking nightmare!!!!...’. Considering their debut was only released 2 years ago, this is a fine sophomore with good production that allows those monstrous riffs to slam into you relentlessly like a buzz saw on ‘A Dead Man Called Traitor’ - awaken thee to the sound from hell!
