Audiovision is the brainchild of Narnia’s Christian Rivel. I was never a big fan of Narnia. Their heavy metal seemed too plain for my taste. And that’s the impression that I’m left with after having heard “The Calling”. It’s all neat and nice, the melodies are in the right places, the production is well suited and the musicianship is competent but for all the rights there’s a wrong that isn’t easily overcome. The songs; they’re so moderate, so middle-of-the-road that I can’t help feeling that they’ve been written to suite everybody and offend none. If I’m to be persuaded otherwise there has to be more attitude to the music than what “The Calling” manage to display. In a world full of decent heavy metal you really have to stand out just to get noticed. Unfortunately Audiovision is far from being anything other than just decent. www.rivelrecords.com
