Furious extreme metal from Denmark with screeching vocals tempered by atmospheric background keyboards and melodic guitar passages before the furor starts up again! At times drummer Morten Lowe is pounding that double bass so hard the reverberations of his bass drums can also be heard in addition to the pedal thudding!!! So, not much change since their debut ("The Machinery of Order") as the 9 songs on this sophomore are pretty much of a muchness although this non stop barrage will clearly appeal to those dreaming of a world with twin moons bathing burning castles atop a mountain of human skulls!

When Anders Lundemark of Konkhra formed his side project Daemon, I wonder how much of an impression he thought it would leave on the Danish metal scene. Well, The Arcane Order are true successors to where he left off i.e. thunderous, bombastic drumming, booming reasonating bass runs, abrasive guitar and screeching vocals. They remind me a lot of Soilwork in this 10 track debut but the talent is there, given that all 4 members have played in other bands including Raunchy. Along with the other new Danish bands like Hatesphere, its good to see that Denmark is at last rising up to meet the challenge of its Scandinavian rivals.
