If you do a search for Antique on the Internet you might come upon a Swedish band by the same name. If you’re not into eurodisco forget everything about that band. This Antique comes from the US and they play a mix of ambient and black/dark metal. I’ve come across some bands that try to mix two so opposing styles but I haven’t met any band that managed to do it in a way that takes my breath away. The biggest problem is that ambient and black metal are on either ends of the scale that mixing them requires song writing skills almost beyond the possible. Which makes “Book One” just an OK attempt at fusing two styles of music that has very little in common.
