Aloop
“Global Crisis”
(Edgerunner Music)
Ferocious metal from
Denmark that kinda reminds me of Anders Lundemark’s (remember
him from the Konkhra days kiddies?) Daemon. Aloop play a style thats highly
reminiscent
of Slayer in their old days combined with the likes of todays Mercenary
(who are good
drinking buddies from what I can gather) so you can imagine what they
sound like - although
their name leaves a lot to be questioned (like, what does it mean?!).
The fotos and lyrics are
predictably macabre but of course the 5 band members then let themselves
down by all
thanking their moms and dads and familys ha ha. C’mon guys, it doesn’t
work like that.....
you don’t play this kinda stuff and then go home to your loving
wife and cuddle the baby....
no no no....you play and then you go to Vestbrogade, score some drugs,
go to a strip bar
where you get yourself a nice hooker, and spend the evening watching animal
sex porn etc....

ALOOP
”Global
Crisis”
(Edgerunner)
One
of the all time greatest thrash metal bands is a Danish one. With albums
like “Fear Of Tomorrow”, “Terror Squad” and
“By Inheritance” Artillery has marked their spot in the
Hall of Great Thrash Metal. Aloop is as a thrash band as far away from
Artillery as oranges are to apples but they still have that Danishness
to them that make for a quality product. Aloop sound like a combination
of Fear Factory crossed with The Haunted with a good dose good old 80s
thrash thrown in. To some that might sound like Slipknot. All I know
is that this one surprised me more than I thought it would. Maybe this
is the beginning of a new Danish thrash metal wave?
