AGGREGATE Feel The Pain (Plywood Productions) In 1995 I reviewed
a record by a Swedish band by the name of Nugatory. Usually I don't remember
most of the reviews I've done but this one I do, and it's not because
it was a truly outstanding record but because I saw potential that never
resulted in anything further. Turn to 2008 and some of the members from
Nugatory return under a new name; Aggregate. That first band had a rude
thrash angle to its sound that Aggregate have adopted too, along with
a Pantera touch thrown it for good measure. And it?s here that the problems
start. I like the thrash parts of ?Feel The Pain? but every time I?ve
gotten into the groove it rears its ugly face; that ugly one step forward,
two steps backwards Pantera stomp that few (if any) manages to reproduce
with any accuracy. The one, that in the wrong hands just ends up toasting
any or all potential. If Aggregate manages to get rid of that nasty piece
of inefficiency we could be onto something. www.myspace.com/aggregate666
