This is different, and highly diverse. A lotta bands have tried this over the years but usually it comes out as just a cacophony, but Aeternus have succeeded. With a range from blastbeats to fast to mid tempo complimented by distant-roaring to psychedelic vocals this Norge trio have no less than 6 albums tucked into those belts (4 of those being released on Hammerheart i.e. Bathory’s label) (Huh-? Hammerheart was a Dutch label run by the guy from Bifrost... -ED) and don’t feel a need to pander to any specific genre or trend, they just mix and match styles to produce a sound over the 9 tracks that make up “HeXaeon”. This is powerful dark psychic metal from the fjords.
