ABORYM .....For those of you who think technology and black metal are an incompatible union, Aborym’s latest album “With No Human Intervention” is a no-no on your shopping list. I wasn’t too impressed by Aborym’s debut album and therefore not bothered to check out the second one either but I had some hopes on this new one being more than just average. The prospect of mixing desolate sci-fi technology with misanthropic black metal sounded on paper like a truly remarkable union. It still does. What Aborym have failed to do is take the concept all the way and mix industrial rhythms with cold and dark black metal. Now they are stuck somewhere in limbo, indecisive as to which way the want to take. It’s really a shame because there’s potential this time around. If only they had the guts to go all the way. -Anders Ekdahl |
