Eclectic, melancholic extreme metal courtesy of the bear growling vocals of Karl Schubach and the intricate, fluid guitarwork of Stu Ross who really are the core drivers of the MS sound from the hardcore sounding ‘Weight Of The World’ to my personal fave in closer ‘Homecoming’ which is almost 60s trippy with tranquil passages and gradually builds up, showcasing the true talents of this band. MS have been going for 5 years and Devin Townsend has done a great production jobby on “Controller”, given these guys have a range of sounds to accommodate: at times pensive (‘Coma’), at times mellow (‘Set In Motion’), but always aggressive.
