"Searching For The Sun" (Dark Symphonies) When you talk progressive metal it almost always starts and ends with Dream Theater. But that's just the tipping of the iceberg. If you're brave enough to dip your head into the cold water you'll notice that there's more to the genre than what is visible at first. Brave is one of these bands defined as prog metal that doesn't sound anywhere close to Dream Theater. While still being contemporary metal they have much of the 70s prog rock to thank for their sound. Without bands like ELP, Genesis and Yes (just to name a few) I'm pretty sure Brave would have sounded a whole lot different. But that's the strength of Brave. To take a contemporary metal sound and weld it with the sounds of the past. You don't even have to be familiar with the old sound to appreciate the new sound of Brave.
