ALL BORO KINGS ‘Just For The Fun Of It’ (Century Media) Formed by ex members of Dog Eat Dog and Mucky Pup, ABK are named after the former’s 1994 album. Thankfully more positive hardcore than the punk pop of their predecessor they’ve got elements of Pennywise, Murphy’s Law and Beastie Boy white rapper rock in their sound, complete with a nice dose of scratching and saxophone. Yet, despite their influences, I wouldn’t mistake them for just another brewski bash - everything’s a lot more tight musically making ‘Just For The Fun Of It’ 12 cool tracks of hardcore with the right amount of (NYC) skank and groove. -Shan Siva
